After you submit an application, I will ask that you give me a call so we can chat. I want to answer any questions you have and address any special circumstances. I want to learn more about you and your family and give you a chance to get to know me! At that point I will also email a copy of the puppy deposit agreement. The puppy deposit agreement will need to be signed and returned to me with a $500 non-refundable deposit. You are then notified that you are on the list to get one of my extraordinary pups!
From there, when a litter is born, you will be notified. You will also be added to our Facebook group so you can be included in all of the updates. I will announce when pick up weekend is early on so that travel arrangements can be made in plenty of time. I typically will not announce which pup is going to which family until 7 weeks, after they are tested by a professional puppy evaluator. Puppies are usually picked up at 8 weeks old, and the balance is due at pick up. I typically try to have everyone come in on the same weekend if possible, and hold a puppy conference during that time to give you an opportunity to ask questions and learn about what your puppy already knows, and the foundation that has been laid for them, as well as other dog and diabetes related topics.
After you get home with your puppy, we will start online training classes along with having the support from our Facebook group which is full of other families who own my DAD's, as well as myself, and I will be available by phone or in person whenever possible for the life of your DAD.
